  • Pray that all churches in America and throughout the world would preach the true gospel of Jesus Christ.  Pray that those who distort or water down the Scriptures would be exposed.

  • Continue to lift up the two major presidential candidates, Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama, as well as any other candidates seeking our nation's highest office.  Pray that all candidates for president would sincerely seek God's guidance and that they would follow His lead, and pray that our next president would set a sincere, positive moral example for all Americans.

  • Pray for the safety and security of the upcoming Democratic and Republican National Conventions.

  • Pray for those in the path of Tropical Storm Fay.

  • Lift up those in Texas and Mexico who are still recovering from Hurricane Dolly.

  • Lift up the family of Arkansas Democratic Party Chairman Bill Gwatney, who was killed last week when a gunman entered the Arkansas Democratic Party headquarters.

  • Pray that Americans would express their political views at the ballot box rather than through violence.

  • Pray that voters would look beyond sound-bites and see candidates for public office for who they really are.  Pray that the Lord's will would be done in the November election.

  • Lift up the family of former U.S. Senator and presidential candidate John Edwards.  Pray that his family would heal in the wake of his recent admission of an extramarital affair.  Pray that the Lord would use this difficult time to work in the lives of Senator Edwards and his family.

  • Pray that Christians who disagree with Senator Edwards' political views would resist the temptation to gloat or revel in his downfall.  Pray that they would instead use this as an opportunity to share the grace and love Jesus Christ has bestowed on all who trust in His name.

  • Pray for Christian students throughout America who will be returning to school or entering college this fall.  Pray that they would influence the culture around them rather than being influenced by it.

  • Lift up the nation of Pakistan in the wake of president Pervez Musharraf's resignation.

  • Continue to pray about the fighting between Russia and Georgia.

  • Continue to pray for the safety of the athletes and spectators at the 2008 Olympics in Bejing.

  • Ask the Lord to protect those who are sharing the Truth of Christ at the Olympics.

  • Give thanks for the recent drop in gas prices; continue to ask the Lord to bring stability to our nation's economy, especially in the area of gas prices.

  • Ask the Lord to protect Christian leaders from temptation.  Pray that Christians in leadership positions at all levels would model Christ's love as they fulfill their responsibilities.

  • Intercede for our troops serving in Afghanistan, Iraq and throughout the world.  Ask the Lord to comfort, protect and guide them and their families.

  • Ask the Lord to continue protecting the United States from terrorist attacks.

  • Pray that Americans would understand and heed the fact that our nation's strength comes from God, not from ourselves.

  • Continue to pray that President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would seek and follow the Lord's guidance as they make decisions that impact the future of our nation.

  • Ask the Lord to use Pray4theUSA.com to motivate Christians throughout America to sincerely pray for our nation.
